in addition there are plenty of 3rd party tools. Especially if you need some extra options - you can't do without them. Good suggestion - file system auditor. It tracks all file activity of your sensitive files or folders. And one of the most useful features is that this tool can send e-mail notifications about any events you want. It's great when you need to be informed immediately, for example, about access attempts or any other operations. If I'm not wrong there is also a tool from the same company (scriptlogic) for auditing changes to active directory.
